In accordance with the New Zealand Building Code (NZBC), fire protection is a critical consideration in all construction projects. Precast concrete provides inherent fire-resistant properties, offering robust protection without the need for additional treatments. These characteristics ensure that precast concrete systems meet or exceed NZBC clauses C1–C6, which govern fire safety and structural performance during fire events. As a result, precast concrete not only enhances building resilience but also supports full compliance with national fire safety standards.
